MCC Grant Program Updated Policies & Application Information

At MCC, we understand that the costs associated with legal and financial planning can be a significant burden. That's why we're dedicated to empowering families through resources, educational support, and financial assistance.

Who We Support

We specifically serve families with dependents who have cognitive disabilities and may never achieve full independence. Through the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and grants we continuously build a fund designed to provide grants to those in need. In 2025, our goal is to award at least five grants which we have successfully fulfilled!

Updated Eligibility Requirements

In line with our commitment to transparency and fairness, we have updated our application process (see Funding Eligibility below). All applicants are now required to provide proof of income. This additional income eligibility requirement helps us ensure that the grants reach the families who need them most.

*Meeting the financial eligibility guidelines does not guarantee funding, and exceeding the guidelines does not automatically disqualify an applicant. MCC reviews each application individually and considers the family's overall circumstances and available funding.

Beyond Grants

Additional Support

For families who have the means to manage their estate planning independently, MCC is happy to offer guidance and connect you with professional resources to further support your planning efforts.

We are committed to the success of every family we serve. If you need assistance or have any questions about the application process, please reach out to us. Your journey to financial security and peace of mind is important to us, and we're here to help every step of the way.

Network & Policy

Our Professional Network & Grant Funding Policy

At Morgan's Caring Connection, grant funding is available only for services provided by professionals who are part of our Professional Network.

We understand that many families may already have relationships with attorneys, financial advisors, trust officers, insurance professionals, or other providers. However, because our mission is to help families establish long-term plans for dependents with disabilities, we have a responsibility to ensure that the professionals we support through grant funding have the knowledge, experience, and commitment necessary to serve this unique community.

Each professional in our network undergoes a vetting process conducted by Morgan's Caring Connection. While our evaluation process is proprietary, we assess factors such as:

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families
  • Knowledge of special needs planning and related resources
  • Alignment with MCC's mission, values, and family-centered approach
  • Commitment to ethical practices and professional standards
  • Willingness to collaborate and educate families throughout the planning process

Our goal is not simply to help families access services, but to connect them with professionals who understand the complexities of planning for the future of a loved one with a disability.

Already Have a Professional in Mind?

We welcome introductions to professionals who are not currently part of our network. While we cannot guarantee acceptance into our Professional Network or approval of grant funding for their services, we are always open to learning about professionals who may be a good fit for the families we serve.

Please note that grant funding cannot be awarded until a professional has successfully completed our vetting process and been accepted into the network.

Don't Let Financial Eligibility Stop You From Applying

We encourage families to apply even if they are unsure whether they meet our financial eligibility requirements.

Every family situation is unique, and household income alone does not always reflect the financial realities of caring for a dependent with a disability. Factors such as medical expenses, caregiving costs, specialized equipment, therapies, and other circumstances may impact a family's ability to pay for essential planning services.

If you believe our program may help your family, we encourage you to submit an application. Our review process is designed to consider the complete picture and connect families with resources whenever possible.

Important Update

Grant Application Process

Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant from MCC. We are currently accepting applications for funding support, but due to the high volume of requests, please note that we will not begin reviewing applications again until September 2026 (submission deadline August 15, 2026).

We will only review applications quarterly in:

  • March (submission deadline February 15, 2026)
  • June (submission deadline May 15, 2026)
  • September (submission deadline August 15, 2026)
  • December (submission deadline November 15, 2026)

To ensure fair and timely distribution of funds, all applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, when reviewing applications, we will take into account the urgency of each family's needs, ensuring that those who require immediate support are prioritized.

How the Process Works:

  1. Submit Your Application

Complete the application form on our website and include all required information and documentation to support your request.

  2. Share Your Story

Submit a recent family or dependent photo along with a short story (no more than 150 words) about your situation. This helps us connect donors to the real lives their support is impacting. Stories are shared with donors to inspire and encourage continued giving.

  3. Application Queue

Once submitted, your application will be placed in our queue. Please note, we will not be reviewing applications again until April 1, 2026.

  4. Evaluation

Applications will be reviewed in the order received, with special consideration given to urgent needs.

  5. Notification

After review, you'll be notified about the status of your funding request. If selected, we will work with you to determine the best way to distribute the grant to meet your family's needs.

* Why We Ask for a Photo & Story:

Sharing a photo and short story helps us show donors the real families whose lives are being changed through their generosity. These stories create a personal connection, inspire others to give, and allow us to continue supporting more families like yours. We are sensitive to your privacy — only the photo and story you provide will be shared.
