Community TIES is a UW-Waisman Center behavioral support program serving Dane County children/families, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who live in the community. Our mission is to address behavioral, psychological, and emotional needs using therapeutic approaches that assure continued participation in supported community life. These needs – if not addressed – are often expressed through “challenging behaviors” – which might include aggressions, self-injurious behavior, or property destruction. Many individuals served by TIES often have co-occurring mental health conditions.

Fulcrum-All Terrain Therapeutic Services provide online and mobile services (in-home and in the community). We offer therapy, coaching, mentoring and consultations for autistic, neurodivergent and other individuals age 12 and up.

Consultation to Preschools, Headstart and School Districts
Yoga and Mindfulness (classes, training or individual)
Support for anxiety management and emotional regulation
Support for mental health disorders such as trauma, ADHD/ADD, OCD and other behavioral disorders
Support in conducting functional behavior assessments/creating positive behavior intervention plans
Offering strategies to support successful inclusion within the community
Support for peer, sibling, and other family relationships
Strategies developing independence with daily living and self care routines
Support in developing communication systems and strategies
Supporting technology use and integration
Educational Assessments

Madeline Barger provides education, consultation, and mental health services and treatment for neurodiverse individuals both in private practice, I AM Autism, LLC and as a Lead Clinician for The Waisman Center Autism Program and specializes in teen and adult support.

Dr. Corey Ray-Subramanian of Neurodiverse Psychological Services offers comprehensive psychological testing and evaluation services, including autism diagnostic evaluations, and individual mental health therapy.

The TIES Clinic provides psychiatric care and consultation to Dane County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. All patients seen in the TIES clinic receive services through the Community TIES Behavioral Support Program. The TIES Clinic is coordinated by Joanne Law, RN. Patients seen in the TIES clinic often include individuals who are unable to obtain psychiatric care from other providers due to financial situation, behavioral issues, or medical complexity. The clinic is scheduled on the first Wednesdays and Thursday of every month with Steve Singer, MD, and twice a month on Thursdays with Lauren Bern, MD. Both are psychiatrists who have extensive experience treating persons with developmental disabilities.

Wisconsin Family Ties (WFT) is a statewide, parent-run organization in Wisconsin working with families that include children with social, emotional or behavioral challenges. We walk beside families to provide emotional support while helping to navigate the complex service and treatment systems with which they are involved.
